Purpose of the Position
The Technical Officer – ILM will serve as the primary field-level facilitator and coordinator for Integrated Landscape Management implementation in Mirzapur. The position will support stakeholder engagement, Multi-Stakeholder Platform facilitation, landscape planning, community mobilization, capacity building, monitoring, documentation, and reporting. The role will help translate landscape-level vision into practical field actions and will promote collaboration among government agencies, cooperatives, producer groups, private sector actors, and local communities.
The position is intended to ensure that ILM interventions are implemented in a participatory, inclusive, technically sound, and well-coordinated manner, with strong attention to sustainability, climate resilience, and social inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Mapping and Engagement
- Identify and map key stakeholders relevant to ILM implementation.
- Develop and maintain an updated stakeholder database.
- Analyze stakeholder roles, interests, influence, and potential contributions.
- Facilitate consultations with community members, local institutions, and technical agencies.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders.
Multi-Stakeholder Platform (MSP) Facilitation
- Support the establishment and operationalization of the Multi-Stakeholder Platform.
- Organize and facilitate regular MSP meetings, consultations, and coordination sessions.
- Support preparation of agendas, minutes, action points, and follow-up plans.
- Facilitate dialogue, consensus building, and joint decision-making among stakeholders.
- Support formation of thematic working groups or committees, where required.
- Track follow-up actions and support implementation of decisions taken by the platform.
Landscape Planning and Implementation
- Support landscape assessment, resource mapping, and situation analysis exercises.
- Assist in the preparation and updating of landscape management/action plans.
- Facilitate implementation of agreed landscape interventions and priority activities.
- Promote climate-smart agriculture, agroforestry, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, sustainable land management, and sustainable water management.
- Support integration of agriculture, livestock, forestry, natural resource management, and livelihood activities at landscape level.
Requirements
- Experience: 3 years
- Education: master of science in environmental science (agriculture)
- Skills: landscape maintenance, project coordination, project reporting & documentation, project support, ilm, onsite coordination, landscape design, land management
