The Surgical Technician directs all the activity of the surgical veterinary technicians during scheduled sterile and non-sterile surgeries toward the goal of delivering technical excellence, proficiency and an increase in daily surgical capacity for our Patients and Clients. This person is entrepreneurial, self-directed and passionate about providing exceptional experiences for employees, customers, patients and vendors. The Surgical Technician:
Directs and coordinates surgical veterinary technicians during procedures.
Manages and monitors all surgeries, ensuring adherence to protocols.
Assists Veterinary Surgeons by preparing equipment, monitoring anesthesia, and optimizing efficiency.
Evaluates and supervises surgical/dental estimates, invoices, and re-checks.
Ensures compliance with Fear-Free patient care protocols.
Leads surgical rounds, assigns technical responsibilities, and coordinates workflow.
Trains and mentors surgical team members, overseeing proficiency and continuous improvement.
Maintains cleanliness and sterility of surgical rooms and instruments.
Works closely with the Surgical Manager and Veterinarians to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
