The Welcome Waggin’ has spent nearly two decades redefining veterinary medicine through exceptional in-home care. Now, our rapidly growing Veterinary Care Center is expanding, and we’re searching for an outstanding Certified Veterinary Technician or highly experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our surgery and dentistry team.
This isn’t a high-volume corporate hospital where you’re simply moving patients through the day.

Your Impact
You’ll be an essential member of our surgical team, helping provide safe anesthesia, advanced dentistry, and compassionate patient care from admission through recovery.
You’ll work closely with our veterinarians and fellow technicians to ensure every patient receives outstanding medical care while every client feels informed, confident, and supported.
What You’ll Do
You’ll play a vital role in nearly every aspect of patient care, including:
- Prepare patients for surgery and dentistry
- Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia
- Perform comprehensive patient monitoring throughout procedures
- Place IV catheters and collect diagnostic samples
- Obtain diagnostic radiographs and dental radiographs
- Assist with advanced dental procedures
- Perform laboratory diagnostics
- Administer medications and treatments
- Assist with hospitalized patient care
- Educate clients on treatment plans and post-operative care
- Maintain surgical equipment and treatment areas
- Help create a smooth, organized, and positive surgical day
Our surgical schedule primarily includes:
- Professional dental cleanings with full-mouth dental radiographs
- Tooth extractions
- Soft tissue surgery
- Routine spays and neuters
- Mass removals
- Wound management
- Diagnostic procedures
Every anesthetized patient is supported by two trained veterinary professionals, allowing us to provide exceptional patient safety while giving our technicians the support they deserve.

Qualifications
We’re looking for either:
- Illinois Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)
OR
- Veterinary Assistant with 7+ years of hands-on clinical experience
Preferred experience includes:
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Surgical assisting
- Digital radiology
- Dentistry
- Patient nursing care
Experience with dental radiographs is strongly preferred but we’re happy to train the right candidate.
Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive, team-first attitude
- Passion for delivering exceptional patient care
