Student Groundskeeper Jobs in Mission, USA at University Of The, Inc.arnate Word
Student Work-Study groundskeepers are responsible for maintaining the grounds and landscaping of assigned areas on all UIW campuses. This includes keeping UIW grounds areas clean and orderly, free of trash and debris. Groundskeepers report to Groundskeeper Supervisor.
Essential Functions
- Maintaining gardens and lawns, including planting, weeding and mulching.
- Delivering plants to events or departments.
Qualifications Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to use and operate grounds equipment and/or tools (e.g. leaf sweepers, line trimmers, hedge trimmers, blowers, hand truck, hammer drill, chain saw, basic hand tools, etc.).
- Ability to plant shrubs, trees, flowers, pruning trees/shrubs.
- Ability to operate push lawn mowers, and other turf related equipment.
- Experience in work that requires customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education
Current UIW student approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study program.
Required Work ExperiencePreferred Qualifications Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Valid Drivers License to operate a golf cart.
Work Hours
Monday
– Friday 12- 20 hours per week. Some weekends will be mandatory.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to pull, push and lift 50 pounds.
- Work in inclement weather and exposure to heat, rain and cold.
