To buy products for the store and ensure that administration is correctly carried out.
Job specifications/responsibilities will include the following:
Promotions and Deals
- Assist with planning of annual national promotional plan
- Planning of specific supplier promo grids in line with national promotional plan
- Negotiating supplier activity by month in line with grid and national promotional plan
Reconciliations
- Ensure that the sales target in line with the business objective
- Assisting the Invoicing department to achieve sales conversion target
- Member claims
- Understand and control of member claims procedures (SCM) and determine the profitability of claims
Shrinkage and profitability control
- Adhere to all safety regulations and report any unsafe conditions and practices to management immediately
- Report suspicious occurrences or people to management and security personnel
- Adhere to all safety regulations
Customer satisfaction and supplier engagement
- High frequency supplier interface
- Manage supplier performance in line with profitability to achieve company objectives – understand and priorities profitable suppliers
- Focus ongrowth for the Top 30 suppliers
- Regular meeting with suppliers to assist them in achieving their targets
- Decide on range and compare supplier’s product offerings
- Maintain high level of Ethics, Anti-Corruption Compliance; Discipline, Accountability and Commitment
In-store range and replenishment
- Choose what is best suited for your market and buy accordingly
- Regularly review range by monitoring product performance to identify fast/slow/dead stock
- Conduct quarterly range reviews with suppliers to agree on discontinued lines, new listings, space allocations, merchandising techniques
- Continuously look for business opportunities with new suppliers
Requirements:
Minimum Academic,Professional Qualifications and Experience required for this position
- Relevant tertiary education in Administration, Marketing, Finance related and or related field; and at least 7-10 years’ experience in a FMCG environment in a related role.
- Must be computer literate, Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills,
- knowledge of ARCH will be added advantage
