Staff Accountant – II Jobs in Davidson, NC at Mobile Veterinary Specialists (MOVES)
MOVES Mobile Veterinary Specialists is looking to add a Staff Accountant to support our expanding operations. Under the guidance of our Controller, the Staff Accountant will serve a vital role in the successful continued growth of our team. This full-time salaried (exempt) position will be based at our newly remodeled headquarters in Davidson, NC. Our robust total compensation package includes 100% employer-paid premiums for medical / vision / dental insurance, 401K match program, short term disability, life insurance, parental and maternity leave, and generous vacation time. Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the accounts receivables and accounts payable process, including direct communication with our customers and vendors.
Oversee the collections process (when indicated) and serving as the liaison between MOVES and our third-party collections partner.
Track and reconcile additions, disposals, and transfers of fixed assets.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
Prepare journal entries and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues.
Act as a reviewer for journal entries posted by Controller to provide adequate internal controls to ensure accuracy.
Develop and maintain comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the accounting department to ensure compliance as needed.
Provide support for budgeting and forecasting activities.
Assist with payroll processing and related tax filings.
Support Invoicing Specialist in daily invoicing entry as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Bill and MS Excel)
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial regulations.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
