We’re on the lookout for a skilled and compassionate Seasonal Veterinary Assistant to join our fast-paced, animal-loving team at Dakin Humane Society. This full-time seasonal position includes one weekend day, and offers a unique opportunity to support shelter medicine while gaining valuable hands-on experience.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Administer vaccines and oral/injectable medications
Monitor and track the health of shelter animals
Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records
Work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Who You Are:
You have experience working with animals (bonus if it’s in a veterinary setting!)
You’re detail-oriented—accurate documentation matters just as much as patient care
You stay calm under pressure, adapt quickly, and love a good challenge
You’re reliable, compassionate, and ready to jump in where needed
