Seasonal Sports Park Manager Jobs in Chicago, Illinois, USA at City of O’Fallon
As a manager at the O’Fallon Family Sports Park, you must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be required to interact with other staff members along with the park visitors to ensure they are following rules and enjoy their time at our park. You will be required to overlook the concession staff and ensure they are doing their jobs correctly in serving food and drinks as well as making sure cleaning is done every day.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Act as a liaison between the O’Fallon Parks and Recreation Department and participants within active recreation programs.
Open the complex main gates and unlock needed fields.
Double check that fields not in use are locked.
Police the complex and enforce park rules.
Turn lights on/off as needed and per policy.
Collect and distribute materials to coaches, captains, and umpires as directed.
Coordinate with umpires to ensure they arrive on time.
Make recommendations for hiring/discipline of sports park employees.
Distribute payments to umpires as needed.
Transport materials/supplies between concession stands.
Report mechanical problems found to Recreation Coordinator.
Follow guidelines and procedures for safe food handling in the concession stands.
Must take Food Safety course provided by the city before beginning work.
Serve food and beverages to customers in a very fast-paced environment.
Prepare food/beverages such as popcorn, pretzels, hot dogs, and fountain sodas, using standard formulas and following directions.

Requirements:
Able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays, and special events – Required.
Ability to interact with people efficiently and courteously – Required.
Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing – Required.
Ability & willingness to enforce rules and regulations – Required.
Qualities such as competence, independence, self-sufficiency, dependability – Required.
Regular attendance – Required.
Must pass background check – Required.
Essential
Education and Experience:
Must be at least 18 years of age, Required.
Previous experience working with youth, preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Most work is accomplished in an outdoor environment, subject to weather fluctuations (wide range of temperatures and inclement conditions) – Required.
Ability to walk, run, stand, and sit and complete a variety of motor skills – Required.
Ability to lift & carry 30-70 pounds regularly – Required.
