Job Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections across the detergent production plant and identify potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable HSE regulations.
- Monitor the proper use of PPE and enforce safety requirements among employees and contractors.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures.
- Manage safety procedures for chemicals, machinery, electrical systems, and other hazardous operations.
- Organize safety training, toolbox meetings, and emergency drills for employees.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor fire safety equipment, emergency exits, first-aid facilities, and emergency response procedures.
- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, incident reports, and other HSE documentation.
- Promote a strong safety culture and continuously improve workplace safety standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant HSE/Safety experience, preferably in a manufacturing or chemical processing environment.
- Knowledge of chemical safety, machine safety, fire safety, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
- Familiarity with applicable Ghanaian occupational health and safety requirements.
- Relevant HSE certification such as IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent is an advantage.
- Good communication, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and enforce safety rules effectively.
- Willingness to work in a factory/production environment and on shifts when required.
