The City of Missouri City is actively seeking a Right of Way Technician to join the Urban Forestry Division of the Parks and Recreation Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and beautification of the city.

Reporting Relationship: City Forester

Responsibilities:

Operates and conducts routine maintenance of forestry and landscaping equipment, including but not limited to: chainsaws, weed trimmers, blowers, spray and water tankers, and City vehicles.

Maintains and monitors City-owned right of ways, landscape areas, and urban forest areas; including but not limited to: clearing obstacles and debris, weed and pest control, planting, pruning, mulching, pressure washing, painting, and irrigation system repairs.

Assists with special projects, programs, and events as needed.

Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Subject to 24-hour recall, including weather-related incidents and emergency operations.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or GED.

Six (6) months of professional experience in landscaping, maintenance, arboriculture, or construction.

Valid Texas Driver’s License.

The Department of Human Resources & Organizational Development may consider an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
