About the role, Your Impact
Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Restoration Ecologist – Stewardship Crew Intern in our Marengo, IL office. The Stewardship Crew Intern will complete all aspects of restoration work and have the opportunity to work directly with our senior ecologists. Most projects are within an hour of our Marengo office.
What your day-to-day will look like, what you will learn on the job
Complete all restoration work aspects, including planting, seeding, erosion control methods, brush cutting, and herbicide application within stream, prairie, wetland, and woodland restoration areas.
Assist with construction projects like stream restoration and detention basin retrofits.
Complete work for municipalities, forest preserve districts, subdivisions, and private clients.
Education Requirement
In pursuit of an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resources or a related field.
Must-haves, what you will bring
Must acquire herbicide license within 30 days of start date.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a Valid Driver’s License.
Ability to move and carry 35-50 lbs. on a regular basis.
Must be willing to work outside.
Compensation:
The hourly range for this role is $21.00. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
