As part of our international expansion strategy, our Thailand manufacturing base serves as an integrated hub for R&D, manufacturing, quality, and global supply chain operations.
We are looking for a passionate and innovative Pet Food R&D Engineer to join our growing R&D team and drive new product development, formulation optimization, process innovation, and technical support for international customers.
Key Responsibilities
New Product Development
- Develop innovative pet food products, including treats, wet food, freeze-dried products, dental chews, jerky, canned food, and other companion animal nutrition products.
- Design product formulations based on customer requirements, nutritional standards, market trends, and cost objectives.
- Conduct laboratory trials, pilot production, and commercial-scale validation.
Formula & Process Optimization
- Optimize formulations to improve product quality, palatability, stability, nutritional performance, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Improve processing parameters to increase yield, reduce waste, and enhance production consistency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for existing products.
Technical Support
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.
- Provide technical support for customer inquiries, product customization, and OEM/ODM development projects.
- Participate in customer visits and technical presentations when required.
Product Validation
- Plan and execute product validation, shelf-life studies, sensory evaluation, nutritional verification, and stability testing.
- Analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports.
- Support scale-up from laboratory to mass production.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure product formulations comply with relevant international regulations and customer requirements.
- Work closely with QA and Regulatory teams to support product registration and export documentation.
- Maintain product specifications, formulation records, and technical documentation.
Market & Innovation Research
- Monitor global pet food trends, ingredient innovations, emerging technologies, and consumer preferences.
- Identify opportunities for new product categories and continuous innovation.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Food Science, Animal Nutrition, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Food Engineering, Biotechnology, or related disciplines.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in pet food, animal nutrition, food manufacturing, meat processing, or related industries.
- Experience in pet treats, wet food, freeze-dried products, canned food, extrusion, or meat processing is highly preferred.
- Experience with OEM/ODM product development is an advantage.
Technical Competencies
- Strong knowledge of food formulation and ingredient functionality.
- Understanding of pet nutrition principles and AAFCO/FEDIAF nutritional guidelines.
- Familiarity with food processing technologies, including thermal processing, drying, extrusion, sterilization, and meat processing.
- Experience with product commercialization and industrial scale-up.
- Knowledge of food safety systems such as HACCP, GMP, BRCGS, ISO 22000, or FSSC 22000.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
