Rescue Dog Kennel Assistant Jobs in Swanzey, NH at Fast Friends
DO YOU WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF RESCUED DOGS?
Fast Friends is looking for dog lovers with a passion for rescue and dedication to compassionate companion animal care to join our hands-on caregiving team working with the dogs available for adoption. This position requires some weekend and evening work but no overnights. We are staffed for all holidays to care for the dogs and all employees must work either Thanksgiving or Christmas.
What your day will look like
You will be on your feet, with some time outdoors each day, completing general care tasks like:
- walks and practicing good leash manners
- playtime and enrichment activities
- practicing other skills that will be needed in a home
- preparing and serving meals
- bringing dogs to and from relief yards
- picking up messes (pee and poop)
- cleaning kennels (sweep, mop, disinfect)
- doing laundry
- washing dishes
No prior experience with dogs is necessary — although it is preferred.
Skills needed to be successful in these positions:
- Excellent communication with team members, supervisors, and customers
- Enjoy being physically active
- Detail-oriented and observant
- Team-oriented
* Please note that since we are caring for live animals, Fast Friends requires near-perfect attendance. We do our best to accommodate time off requests, but none of our dogs will ever receive anything less than the absolute best care, and that means fully-staffed shifts every single day. Please consider your distance from Fast Friends and your winter driving situation, as we are open 365 days a year—dogs need to be fed and walked even when it is snowing. *
