If you love snakes and are a hard worker, we have a rare opportunity for you. Wilbanks Reptiles is currently seeking full time and part time Reptile Care Technicians in our production facility. We produce high quality reptiles for a variety of accounts throughout the world. We only work with captive bred pythons that we produce. We mainly work with Ball Pythons, Python regius. This is a very docile, small, harmless species of Python.
Primary Duties include the following:
Tub washing (similar to dish washer but with rack tubs), Providing routine animal care and husbandry including diet preparation, feeding and watering, cleaning animal rooms, mixing disinfectants, cleaning cages, changing bedding, handling animals, and health monitoring.
Assisting in developing and modifying animal care policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and practices which promote high quality, cost effective operation of the animal facility.
Interacting with staff to provide high quality, responsive animal care services.
Working with efficiency and effectiveness in regards to assigned tasks.
Monitoring supply and equipment inventory to sustain day-to-day operations.
Maintaining accurate records including: room logs, health reports, animal census and other records as required.
Assisting in maintaining breeding colonies.
Assisting in incubator, monitoring eggs, setting up new hatchlings and starting babies.
Identifying and reporting physical plant items or equipment in need of repair.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, have pride in their work, have organizational skills, have a strong understanding of the word responsibility and the ability to work closely with other team members.
Prior experience with reptiles is not necessary.
The candidate needs to be able to work under a variety of environmental conditions, to be capable of lifting at least 50lbs and have reliable transportation. Weekend work will be required.
