Blue Pearl Pet Hospital in Downtown Seattle, WA is seeking a Relief Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Department!
LVT Pay: $25.60 – $49.15 / hour
This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through the Career Trax leveling system. We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.
* Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.
For example:
Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential
Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential
Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:
Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients, and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
Triages emergency cases as they arrive, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
Understand normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting Veterinarian to changes and issues.
Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
Calculate medical math (including CRIs) and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations.
Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
Mentor and train other team members.
Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
