Full Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Relief Veterinarian to join our team on a temporary basis. You will help ensure the continued high standard of care that we provide for the animals in our shelter and in the community we serve through public spay & neuter days. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal welfare and possess the ability to work collaboratively with the clinic team, animal care and behavior program staff, as well as volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality medical care to shelter animals, including routine examinations, vaccinations, and diagnostics.
Perform surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, and other surgeries.
Dental.
Diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions and injuries.
Collaborate with shelter staff to develop and implement treatment plans for individual animals.
Offer guidance and support to veterinary technicians and support staff.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with veterinary standards.
Educate staff and volunteers on animal care and medical procedures.
Participate in community outreach and educational programs as needed.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary college.
Valid veterinary license to practice in the state of Washington.
Experience working in an animal shelter or similar environment is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compassion for animals and a commitment to their welfare.
Benefits:
Hourly rate: $100/hour. Flexible hours, M-F.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $100.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 24 per week
