- Provide Clinical Care: Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with obstetric and gynecological conditions under the supervision of Consultants/Senior Consultants.
- Conduct Patient Rounds: Participate in regular ward, antenatal, postnatal, labor ward, and emergency rounds and ensure appropriate follow-up of patients.
- Manage Obstetric Emergencies: Promptly assess and initiate management of obstetric emergencies such as postpartum hemorrhage, eclampsia, obstructed labor, and fetal distress, with timely escalation to the Consultant.
- Assist in Procedures and Surgeries: Assist Consultants in obstetric and gynecological surgeries and perform appropriate procedures within the scope of competence and hospital protocols.
- Labor Ward Management: Monitor patients in labor, assess maternal and fetal wellbeing, maintain proper documentation, and promptly inform Consultants of any complications.
- Emergency & On-Call Services: Provide timely medical assessment and management of emergency patients and remain available for assigned on-call duties.
- Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely patient records, including history, examination findings, investigation reports, treatment plans, operative notes, discharge summaries, and follow-up instructions.
- Coordinate Investigations & Treatment: Review laboratory and imaging reports, formulate appropriate management plans, and coordinate with other departments and healthcare professionals when required.
- Patient & Attendant Communication: Communicate effectively with patients and their attendants regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, procedures, and progress while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
- Support Quality & Patient Safety: Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols, infection prevention practices, medication safety standards, and participate in departmental audits, training, and quality improvement activities.
