Hilliard Veterinary Hospital is privately owned and the oldest small animal hospital in Hilliard. We are a close-knit team looking for a qualified and talented Veterinary Technician to join our work family!

We are looking for someone who is a team player with excellent communication skills who is able to work independently, is self driven, all while being able to multi-task while keeping a positive attitude.
We are located in the heart of Hilliard with easy access to 270. Our hospital includes advanced diagnostic features including digital x-rays, digital dental x-rays, in-house lab (urine and blood machines) and in house surgery suite.
We do not have emergency hours or overnight care.
NO ON CALL!
We are open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 to 5:00 pm and Thursday 8:00 to 7:00 pm. Every other Saturday from 8:00 to 12:00 pm. Closing shifts are required for this position.

Responsibilities
– Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals.
– Perform animal restraint during examinations and procedures.
– Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
– Prepare and maintain laboratory samples and perform basic laboratory tests (including cytology).
– Taking digital x-rays.
– Assist with surgical procedures, performing dental cleaning and dental x-rays including preparation of surgical instruments and monitoring of anesthesia.
– Educate pet owners on proper animal care and nutrition.
Qualifications
Veterinary Technician Certification Required
Proven veterinary experience with a focus on animal handling and care.
Strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal physiology.
Proficient in animal restraint and catheterization techniques in animals of all sizes.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Familiarity with aseptic techniques and medication administration.
Experience in dog training and handling, as well as basic pet grooming.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and positive attitude.

Pay: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour
