Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician /Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role you will assist doctor and other hospital staff by care and cleaning of patients and facilities including completing patient treatments, assisting in surgery and all other animal care functions as well as other tasks involved in the operations of a veterinary hospital.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and equipment.
Handle and restrain animals safely to ensure their comfort and safety during examinations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas.
Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian, ensuring accurate dosages and schedules.
Perform basic laboratory tests
Document patient information accurately in medical records, including vaccination history and treatment plans.
Monitor the health status of animals in the clinic, reporting any changes to the veterinarian promptly.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in equine and small animal handling or veterinary settings is preferred
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
A genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
Must be able to lift over 40lbs.
This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour day.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 – $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 38 per week
