Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with a strong interest and experience in veterinary dentistry. This role plays a critical part in delivering accessible dental care, with a primary focus on dental cleanings, oral health assessments, and client education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform dental prophylaxis (scaling, polishing, charting) efficiently and thoroughly
- Take high-quality dental radiographs and assist with interpretation
- Monitor anesthesia and ensure patient safety throughout procedures
- Assist veterinarians with dental treatments and extractions
- Conduct oral exams and accurately document findings
- Educate pet owners on the importance of dental care and at-home prevention
- Maintain and sterilize dental equipment in accordance with protocols
- Support general technician duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Active California RVT license
- Experience with dental cleanings and anesthesia monitoring required
- Dental radiography experience
- Strong attention to detail and efficiency in a high-volume setting
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for client education
- Commitment to HOPE’s mission of increasing access to veterinary care
