Overview
Bigger Road Veterinary Center/Bigger Road Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team in Kettering/Springboro, OH!
As an AAHA accredited hospital, Bigger Road provides comprehensive care for pets. Since opening a second location in Springboro in 2009, we have aimed to better serve the Dayton community. We offer the latest medical and surgical advancements, alternative therapies, nutrition, and behavior counseling in a fear-free environment.
Shift Details: This is a full-time or part-time position with shifts split between locations.

Bigger Road Veterinary Center – 718 N. Main St., Springboro, Ohio 45066
Bigger Road Veterinary Clinic -5655 Bigger Rd., Kettering, Ohio 45440
Compensation: $20-26/hour

Job Summary: The Registered Veterinary Technician provides leadership and training to medical support staff, ensures smooth operation of the facility according to hospital policies, and provides medical care to patients as permitted by the veterinary practice act. The technician communicates effectively with team members and clients, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Responsibilities

Guide support staff to ensure efficient shift flow.
Mentor team members for career growth and personal development.
Contribute to performance evaluations with hospital management.
Provide patient care under DVM supervision.
Maintain excellent client communication.
Accurately record all relevant medical, client, and case information in patient records.
Review medical records, estimates, or discharge instructions with clients.
Address basic animal care questions confidently; refer complex medical questions to veterinarians.
Qualifications
Skills and Talents:
Proficiency in laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental, and nursing skills.
Patience and composure in stressful situations and ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
Calm and efficient during medical crises.
Ability to administer SQ, IM, and IV injections.
Knowledge of prescription drugs, their usage, dosage, and side effects, with ability to explain to clients.
Understanding of anesthesia and recovery states; ability to monitor and alert veterinarians as needed.
Proficiency in extubation, temperature monitoring, and anesthesia recovery.
Strong reasoning, memory, mathematical, and communication skills in English.
Confidence around pets.
