Full Job Description

Village Square Veterinary Hospital is growing, and we are seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to become the next member of our Portola Valley team! Our technicians play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care during both outpatient visits and procedures. They are responsible for coordinating and executing treatment plans, assisting during exams, preparing animals for surgery, monitoring anesthesia, and working with our doctors to complete dental procedures. Additionally, they provide thorough client education and address questions with professionalism and compassion.

In this role, you will work closely with your team to manage the veterinarian’s orders, ensuring the highest level of patient care while maintaining an efficient workflow to keep both appointments and procedures running smoothly. This position is ideal for technicians who excel in client engagement, multi-tasking, and schedule management while seeking to fully utilize their skills in both outpatient and surgical settings.

Full time employees enjoy a 4/10 weekday schedule, and part-time employees can expect 8 hour shifts.

Full-time benefits and compensation**:

Compensation: $35-40 per hour, for each hour worked*

Bonus package: $2000

CE allowance: $500 the first year, $1,000 annually thereafter

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

3+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting

Current Veterinary Technician License in the state of California

Proficiency in the following skills:

Venipuncture and administering injections

Radiology positioning and technique

Surgical set up and assisting

Anesthesia monitoring
