Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned Hospital looking for a Referral Clinical Nurse to join their supportive, mid-tier referral team. This is a brilliant opportunity for an RVN eager to grow in a specialist environment focused on teamwork, career development, and quality patient care.
Working Hours / Rota
The role follows a rolling rota of two shifts from 8:00am–6:00pm, one shift from 7:30am–7:30pm, and one shift from 8:00am–8:00pm. Every four weeks, the rota includes a day off either side of the weekend. On-call duties are limited to approximately three weekends per year for inpatient care, and one Bank Holiday shift annually. No night shifts are required.
Role Description
The successful candidate will support surgical, anaesthesia, and internal medicine caseloads, working hands-on across 8–9 procedures daily, including a mix of orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries. The role rotates between theatre, wards, diagnostics, and prep areas to maintain variety and skill development. Occasional client-facing duties will also be part of the role. Full support will be provided for those new to the referral setting.
Team Size
This hospital operates with a team of 5 Referral Vets, 21 Nurses, multiple Patient Care Assistants, and 9 Client Care Advisors.
Practice Details
The hospital is a purpose-built, modern facility based in a peaceful and accessible location. It focuses on orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine, with a well-structured caseload that allows for high-quality care and staff development. The practice places a strong emphasis on a positive culture, supported by an active social committee and a genuine commitment to work-life balance, including flexible working arrangements.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified RVN with a strong passion for patient care, a proactive and hands-on approach, and a team-oriented attitude. Referral experience is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
