Our high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinic is an essential part of this mission, ensuring accessible services to reduce pet overpopulation and support responsible pet ownership.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Recovery Room Technician to assist in the post-surgical care of animals following spay/neuter procedures. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and efficient recovery process for each patient. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Monitor animals as they recover from anesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort.
· Assess vital signs and alert veterinary staff to any concerns.
· Provide post-operative care, including administering medications and monitoring pain levels.
· Maintain accurate medical records and follow clinic protocols.
· Assist with cleaning and sanitizing recovery areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
· Educate pet owners on post-operative care and answer any questions.
· Support the veterinary team with additional duties as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Experience in veterinary or animal care preferred, but on-the-job training is available for the right candidate.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow medical protocols.
· Comfortable handling and restraining animals of various temperaments and sizes.
· Ability to work as part of a team with a positive and professional attitude.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand for extended periods.
· Lift and move animals and equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
· Work in a setting that may include exposure to anesthesia, cleaning agents, and other veterinary-related substances.
