A receptionist focuses on client services and communication. He/she is the first and last contact with the hospital and key to creating first and lasting impressions. The receptionist must have exceptional client service and communication skills, computer literacy, handle payment and financial issues, ability to multitask, friendly attitude and confidence to deal with stressful situations. Receptionists support veterinarians, technicians, veterinary assistants and kennel staff in daily patient and client care. They communicate with clients in person and by phone and email. This is an extremely fast paced environment and we look forward to your enthusiasm.
Responsibilities
Greet and assist clients upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
Manage appointment scheduling and maintain accurate client records using computer systems.
Provide care for animals, including handling, restraint, and administering basic treatments as needed.
Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care and veterinary services.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and animal care facilities.
Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure optimal client service and animal welfare.
Qualifications
Veterinary experience and knowledge of veterinary terminology is preferred
Computer literacy and ability to manage records
Proficient in animal handling and restraint techniques
Strong communication and client service skills
Experience in pet care and animal husbandry
Familiarity with medical collection and laboratory procedures
