Role Purpose:
- Taking samples of inbound raw materials as per prescribed protocol. Grading of maize as per the Agricultural Products Standard Act Maize Grading guidelines.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Math or Math literacy
- Completion of Maize Grading course
- Must have at least 1 year of work experience in this industry or a similar type of role
- It would be preferable for candidates to have previous experience in a Feed Mill environment
- High level of honesty and integrity
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Shift work and overtime
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Clear criminal record
Key Responsibilities of the role:
Quality Assurance:
- Sampling of raw materials upon arrival on site by following the specified sampling procedure
Maize Grading:
- Do a complete maize grading on each load arriving on site.
- Complete the necessary calculations to determine maize grade.
- Capture data on electronic platform.
Management of Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, Feed Safety and Quality
- Ensures that all legislative and industry standards are followed and that all areas of non-conformance are reported.
- Ensures adherence to ISO 9000/22 000/14 000/18000 standards within the Total Integrated Management System
- Ensures ISO in-process quality control processes are followed.
General Administration
- Good housekeeping and ad hoc duties including general filing and data recording.
- Perform ad hoc tasks as required by Mill operations and/or designated by Mill Management.
