Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor role based in Bulawayo. The Quantity Surveyor will prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), take off measurements, and support tender preparation and evaluation for projects across the company’s sectors. The role involves monitoring project costs, maintaining accurate cost plans and forecasts, and preparing regular cost reports to support decision-making and budget adherence. The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and clients to verify valuations, manage variations, and ensure that contractual and commercial terms are correctly implemented. The position also includes supporting procurement activities, assisting with contract administration, and contributing to continuous improvement of cost management processes and project profitability.
Qualifications

  • Strong cost control and cost management skills to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets.
  • Practical experience in preparing, analyzing, and reviewing BOQs and related measurement documentation.
  • Proficiency in cost planning, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ability to produce clear, accurate cost reporting for internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, procurement processes, and industry standards relevant to mining, agriculture, or industrial projects.
  • Competence in MS Excel and quantity surveying or construction costing software.
  • Strong analytical, numeracy, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams on-site.
  • Relevant professional membership or progress toward registration as a quantity surveyor is an advantage.
