The Public Works Maintenance Superintendent is a hands-on leadership role responsible for planning, directing, and supervising the City’s Maintenance Department while overseeing the maintenance of streets, utilities, parks, stormwater systems, public buildings, and city equipment. This position manages department operations, including budgeting, personnel, capital improvement planning, fleet and asset management, regulatory compliance, and contractor coordination to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective public works services. The superintendent leads and develops maintenance staff, responds to emergencies, participates in rotating on-call duties, and collaborates with the City Administrator, City Council, contractors, and the public. Qualified candidates should have at least six years of public works maintenance experience, three years of supervisory experience, a CDL, and Class D Water and Class SD Wastewater licenses (or the ability to meet licensing requirements).
Starting pay ranges from $43.98 to $48.55 per hour, depending on qualifications, with benefits included.
