The Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (VMBS) is an institution that represents 100 years of growth from a small school of veterinary medicine in 1916 to its present role as a major veterinary educational, medical, and research center. What we want

The Program Aide will m aintain software packages, lab workstations and data storage devices; perform data analyses for data obtained while working on several funded projects; participate in the development of manuscripts drafts.

What you need to know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s experience.

Other: This is a part-time, temporary position.

Preferred Qualifications

B.S. or higher degree

Quantitative skills, e.g. R-programming experience, C-programming experience

Understanding of statistical testing methodology and classification for pattern recognition purposes

Good interpersonal communication skills

Experience with TAMU HPR computing clusters and Linux OS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Working knowledge of office software and instructional programs

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others

Responsibilities

Software Packages Maintenance: Determines work priorities and communicates plans for lab software updates and upgrades.

Maintain Lab Data Storage Devices: Monitors, maintains, and develops plans for device upgrades and replacement. Ensures lab data integrity and mirroring on local physical devices and online clouds.

Perform Data Analyses: Assist the PIs with the appropriate statistical data analyses. Develop presentations and “Methods and Results” sections of paper drafts based on the respective data analyses.
