Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dog Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and training, with the ability to work effectively with dogs of all breeds and temperaments. Duties
Conduct individual and group training sessions for dogs, focusing on obedience, behavior modification, and socialization.
Develop customized training plans based on the specific needs of each dog and their owner.
Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviors in dogs.
Monitor and assess the progress of each dog throughout the training process, adjusting methods as necessary.
Provide guidance to pet owners on best practices for maintaining training at home.
Maintain a safe and clean training environment for both dogs and their handlers.
Collaborate with other staff members to ensure comprehensive care for all animals in the facility.
Assist with kennel duties as needed, including heavy lifting and animal restraint.
Qualifications
Proven experience in dog training or related fields such as veterinary care, animal handling, or animal care.
Strong skills in dog handling, including knowledge of various breeds and their behavioral traits.
Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and safety protocols.
Experience in pet grooming is a plus but not required.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling large dogs or equipment.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
