Role Description The Professional Carpenter will perform day-to-day carpentry tasks on-site at properties managed by Kingdom Real Estate Agency ZM in Lusaka. Responsibilities include constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining wooden structures such as doors, window frames, cabinets, ceilings, partitions, and other fixtures. The role involves reading and interpreting drawings or measurements, preparing materials, operating carpentry tools and equipment safely, and ensuring finishes meet quality and safety standards. The Carpenter will collaborate with other maintenance and construction professionals, communicate progress to supervisors, and follow company procedures and health and safety guidelines. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Lusaka, requiring reliability, attention to detail, and a strong focus on delivering durable, precise workmanship.
Qualifications
- Solid carpentry skills, including measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing wooden structures and fixtures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and measurements for property construction and repairs.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely, with knowledge of proper maintenance and storage of equipment.
- Understanding of building codes, safety standards, and construction best practices relevant to carpentry work.
- Experience in residential and/or commercial property maintenance, renovations, or new construction projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess repair needs and propose practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate tasks with supervisors, colleagues, and clients.
- Ability to work on-site in Lusaka, manage time effectively, and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Relevant trade certification, apprenticeship, or vocational training in carpentry or construction is preferred.
- Prior experience in a professional carpentry role, especially within property management or real estate environments, is an advantage.
