Role Description The Procurement Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Nairobi County, Kenya. This position is responsible for overseeing end-to-end procurement activities, including planning purchasing needs, preparing and managing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. The role involves evaluating and selecting suppliers, conducting contract negotiations, and maintaining strong vendor relationships aligned with organizational standards and budgets. The Procurement Lead will monitor market trends and prices, analyze procurement data, and develop strategies to optimize costs, quality, and timelines. Daily tasks also include coordinating with internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, maintaining accurate records, and preparing regular reports on procurement performance.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Procurement and managing Purchase Orders, including end-to-end purchasing processes.
- Candidates should possess skills in Supplier Evaluation and Contract Negotiation to ensure quality, reliability, and favorable terms.
- Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills for data-driven decision-making, cost analysis, and process improvement.
- Relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in facilities, education, non-profit, or services sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and standard office applications.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation abilities, with attention to detail and ethical conduct.
- Ability to work on-site, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
