Join the Eden Village West team as the Pre-Season Farm Manager, where you’ll play a pivotal role in preparing our vibrant Sadeh (farm) for the upcoming summer season. From February to June, you’ll take charge of farm operations, ensuring the land, plants, and animals are ready to support an immersive and educational farm-to-table experience for campers and staff.
In this position, you’ll focus on pre-season planning and preparation, including soil health management, planting schedules, animal care, infrastructure maintenance, and coordinating supplies. You’ll also collaborate with camp leadership to develop resources and training materials to equip Summer Farm Program Specialists with the tools they need to succeed.
This role requires a mix of hands-on farming expertise, strategic planning, and a passion for sustainable agriculture and education. As the Pre-Season Farm Manager, you’ll set the foundation for a thriving farm season, cultivating an environment that embodies the values of Eden Village West and inspires growth, connection, and stewardship.

Pre-Season Farm Manager Requirements
Prior experience in farming required.
Availability for part-time, hourly work in Healdsburg 2–3 days per week during the spring. Local candidates only.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including cold, extreme heat, rain, and mud, while maintaining a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
Thrives in a dynamic environment, excited to try new things, and embodies flexibility, creativity, and a caring approach.
Organized and detail-oriented, with a passion for maintaining shared spaces that will be used by 100+ community members during the summer.
Pre-Season Farm Manager Expectations
Prepare and maintain a 1-acre educational farm, including annual production beds, perennial growing areas, animal pastures, tool storage, and educational program spaces, ensuring they are ready for summer use.
Serve as the primary liaison between the farm and other camp departments/programs during the pre-season, fostering clear communication and collaboration.
Support the planning and organization of farm-based activities and infrastructure to align with camp values and the spring recruitment and summer season schedule.
Will occasionally be asked to staff recruitment events at the farm itself or within the local region.
