Key Responsibilities
1. Business Growth & Market Leadership
- Develop and execute strategic business plans to establish KOEL as a market
- leader in the East African genset industry.
- Drive top-line growth by achieving and exceeding annual sales and profitability targets.
- Identify new market segments, project opportunities, and emerging customer needs.
2. Sales, Marketing & Channel Management
- Lead direct sales and manage along with our channel partner in East African
- Countries to develop network of dealers and distributors across East African Region.
- Strengthen relationships with industrial houses, EPCs, real estate developers, telcos, banks, government bodies, and consultants.
- Execute marketing campaigns, product promotions, and customer engagement activities.
3. West Africa Regional Development
- Explore and build business opportunities in neighbouring countries (e.g., Uganda, DRC, Burundi, Rwanda, Sudan, Ethiopia, Mauritius, Comoros, Seychelles, Somalia etc.).
- Establish regional partnerships and support distributor developments.
- Conduct market mapping, opportunity assessments, and develop market entry strategies.
4. Operational Excellence & Service Support
- Ensure seamless execution of orders, logistics, and after-sales service through local partners.
- Build strong service infrastructure and ensure adherence to warranty and AMC standards.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and manage escalations in coordination with HO.
5. Strategic Reporting & Compliance
- Provide periodic business updates, forecasts, and competitive intelligence to regional headquarters.
- Ensure business operations are aligned with KOEL’s ethical guidelines and local regulatory requirements.
- Maintain robust documentation, reporting systems, and market data analytics.
Key Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferred.
Experience:
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in diesel generators, power solutions, or capital equipment sales.
- Prior experience in East African markets with a strong network in Powergen business for industrial, commercial, and public sector domains.
- Proven track record of revenue growth, channel management, and business development.
Skills & Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of diesel generator applications, sizing, specifications, and customer expectations.
- Strong leadership qualities with an ability to manage cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a high level of initiative and accountability.
- Familiarity with regulatory, import, and tax frameworks in East African countries is an advantage.
