Thornton Park Pool Cashier Position
Thornton Park Pool Cashier position is a seasonal position with the City of Shaker Heights Recreation Department. This position is responsible for accepting and reporting any revenue generated by the Outdoor Pool. The Pool Cashier will serve as the primary Customer Service Representative to the pool and will assist the general public in utilizing the Thornton Park Pool. This position requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Essential
Functions / Typical Tasks
- The Park Cashier shall perform all cashier duties, including accepting cash, checks and credit cards for outdoor pool programs and activities
- Will be required to learn and utilize the City of Shaker Heights program registration system and computer-operated Point-Of-Sale system
- Must greet and control guests entering and leaving Thornton Park swimming pool area
- Check seasonal pool passes of all patrons for daily admission
- Assist Pool Staff and Thornton Park Front Office Staff with opening and closing procedures
- Must follow all Thornton Park and swimming pool policies and regulations
- Must work effectively, efficiently, tactfully and pleasantly with all Thornton Park staff and the general public
- Assist other staff with the completion of assigned tasks
- Attend meetings as required
- Perform all other duties as required
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
Pursue job responsibilities in a professional and mature manner; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with pool guests, co-workers and facility management in a positive manner. Willingness to promote the Thornton Park complex and its related programs.
Education and Experience
- Minimum age of 16 years old
- Current certification in American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED, required within first 30 days of employment.
