- La Bella Vita Pet Retreat is looking for a dependable, hardworking Pet Care Specialist to join our team. We provide boarding, daycare, and training services and are looking for someone who truly enjoys working with animals but also understands that professional pet care involves much more than playing with dogs.
- Schedule
- This position requires availability for both morning and afternoon shifts.
- Our pet-care schedule is a split-shift schedule, meaning employees work a morning shift, have a break during the middle of the day, and return for an afternoon shift.
- Applicants must be available for both AM and PM shifts as scheduled.
- Weekend and holiday availability is required. Because pets stay with us 365 days a year, our team works rotating weekends and holidays.
- Responsibilities
- Duties include:
- Feeding and providing fresh water
- Letting dogs out for potty breaks and playtime
- Cleaning and sanitizing kennels
- Washing dishes, doing laundry, sweeping and mopping
- Handling dogs of all breeds and sizes, including large dogs
- Supervising dogs during play and outdoor time
- Following feeding, medication, and care instructions
- Monitoring pets and reporting health or behavior concerns
- Maintaining clean and organized pet-care areas
- Assisting with daycare, boarding, and enrichment activities
- Following all La Bella Vita Pet Retreat safety and animal-handling procedures
- What We’re Looking For
- We are looking for someone who is:
- Dependable and on time
- Comfortable working around dogs of all sizes
- Comfortable with cleaning and physical work
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to follow detailed instructions
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in Texas weather
- Available for AM and PM shifts
- Available for rotating weekends and holidays
- Looking for a consistent position rather than temporary work
- Animal-care experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.
- Physical Requirements
- This is an active position. Applicants must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, squat, lift and carry supplies, and safely handle dogs of various sizes.
