Position Overview:
This
hybrid role
combines responsibilities of a Veterinary Assistant and a Kennel Attendant, offering hands-on experience in animal care and clinic operations. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic and a love for animals.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and procedures
Provide basic animal care, including feeding, cleaning, and medicating patients
Care for our boarding animals, ensuring their comfort and well-being
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, exam rooms, and common areas
Perform laundry duties and assist with basic clinic upkeep
Handle and restrain patients safely and compassionately
Administer medications and fill prescriptions as directed by the veterinary team
Monitor and report changes in animal behavior or health
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Previous experience in animal care (vet clinic, kennel, or shelter) preferred but not required
Ability to lift 40+ lbs and work in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable handling animals of all sizes and temperaments
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to learn and take direction from veterinary staff
