Position: PEST CONTROLLER
About the position:
This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the
Eagle Creek Golf Course on Dover Air Force Base.
This position is considered Regular Part Time.
You are guaranteed 20 hours; however, you could work up to 40 hours per week. As a Regular employee, you are eligible to earn annual leave,

Duties:
The purpose of this position is to perform pest control tasks for the Dover AFB Golf Course.
Responsibilities include:
Dusting, spraying, and fogging pesticides, herbicides, and insecticides to control pests.
Setting out traps, pellets, and bait/traps to catch rodents and muskrats.
Applying restricted-use pesticides for weed and ground control around the Golf Course.
Selecting, mixing, and applying herbicides to kill or prevent the growth of noxious plant life and weeds.
Performing arithmetic calculations to determine the rate, use, and quantity of pesticides.
Exercising caution in disbursing pesticides in sensitive areas.
Wearing protective devices as required.
Operating equipment for cutting greens, moving cups, and performing other turf maintenance tasks.
Assisting the irrigation specialist in repairs and performing operator maintenance on application equipment.
Maintaining daily records of pesticides used and pest control work accomplished.
Requirements:
This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
Physical requirements include lifting up to 100 pounds.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must be at least 18 years old.
This position is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Qualifying Experience:
Knowledge of methods for the location, recognition, control, and prevention of common pests.
Ability to perform arithmetic computations to mix and apply chemicals.
Ability to use common hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, and screwdrivers.
Must be able to pass appropriate DE state certification tests required for applicators within 6 months.
