Job Overview:
This is an immediate opening for a PART TIME experienced veterinary technician.
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. This position requires expertise in various veterinary procedures and excellent communication skills.
Duties:
Performing Initial Exams: Checking vital signs, gathering medical histories, and performing basic physical exams.
Administering Treatments: Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments under the direction of a veterinarian.
Collecting Samples: Collecting blood, urine, fecal samples, and other specimens for laboratory analysis.
Assisting with Surgery: Preparing surgical equipment, monitoring anesthesia, and assisting during procedures.
Providing Nursing Care:Providing care for hospitalized patients, administering wound care, and monitoring recovery.
Educating Pet Owners: Explaining procedures, providing instructions on medication administration, and answering questions about their pet’s health.
Requirements:
– Proficiency in veterinary terminology and animal physiology
– Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment
– Ability to handle animals safely and confidently
– Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills:
– Experience with digital radiography (X-ray) systems
– Knowledge of common veterinary medications and dosages
