Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team, specifically for weekends. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service and support to pet owners while ensuring smooth operations within the veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently.
Handle phone calls, providing information about services and answering client inquiries.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date.
Process payments and manage medical collections as needed.
Assist veterinary staff with animal handling during examinations or procedures.
Provide clients with information on pet care, vaccination schedules, and treatment plans.
Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Utilize veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with both clients and staff.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
Familiarity with animal handling techniques, including dog handling and equine care.
Knowledge of veterinary terminology to facilitate effective communication.
Experience in pet care or animal care settings is preferred.
Understanding of animal anatomy knowledge to assist in client education.
Basic knowledge of aseptic techniques related to veterinary practices.
Previous experience in medical collection processes is a plus.
