Treeline Veterinary Cancer Care is hiring an additional part-time Veterinary Oncology Technician for our Medical Oncology clinic.
We are looking for someone to add to our team for Thursdays and Fridays for our new practice in the Vail Valley area. This is a role that will grow into additional days as we expand, and offers additional days in Boulder at our flagship location if desired.

WHO WE ARE
Treeline Vet is boutique Medical Oncology clinic that specializes in Pet Cancer Consultations, staging and diagnostics, chemotherapy administration, and immunotherapy treatments. We focus on providing the best and most advanced medical care to our patients, while ensuring that our clients are comfortable as well.
Treeline Vet uses a concierge model of care which acknowledges that every client and every patient is unique. We strive to provide clients and patients with all the comfort and care that they require in order to have a positive experience in what can be a stressful time.
Responsibilities of our Oncology Veterinary Technician include:
- Overseeing appointments and guiding clients through outpatient appointments
- Assisting the Oncologist with exams, diagnostics, and procedures
- Reviewing patient medical records and obtaining thorough histories
- Venipuncture and running in-house laboratory samples.
- Obtaining radiographs using DR software.
- Handling and processing of aspirate and fluid samples. Opportunity to expand FNA skills if interested.
- Preparing and administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and small molecule inhibitors with high quality PPE including Phaseal Closed System Transfer Devices
- Maintaining a clean and organized treatment area and clinic, including disinfecting and cleaning all areas of our space, inventory, and stocking
- Providing exceptional and friendly client communication and education to the families we serve
- Providing compassionate, caring, and meticulous nursing care to our patients
- Our Vail Valley practice provides the opportunity to work one-on-one with our Oncologist, Dr. Oberthaler. We are currently growing this practice!
WHO WE NEED:
- Proficiency in venipuncture
- IV catheter placement
- Optimism and ability to provide empathy and comfort to clients, while respecting their personal decisions.
- Must be able to lift 35lb and work on feet for several hours at a time
- Ability to accept challenges as they arise. We are a start-up practice in a new location, and surprises are inevitable!

Candidates for this position should be detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment. Treeline Vet hires based on personality. We are looking for a kind, friendly, and optimistic person. Candidates should be enthusiastic about client education and have meticulous and compassionate patient care. Hospitality experience is an advantage, as we like to get to know our clients.
Prior experience working in an Oncology department is a huge plus, but not required. We are willing to teach!
Schedule requirements:
- Currently seeking a 1-2 day week commitment. Thursdays and Fridays.
