Faithful Friends is looking for a friendly and organized Veterinary Assistant to join our animal care team. You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all of our pet patients. Qualifications:
- Must have at least one year of experience as a veterinary assistant or related experience.
- Must be able to work independently and be flexible to meet changing priorities.
- Must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and must be able to work in a team environment.
- Must have a strong commitment to service excellence and quality care.
- Must have a positive attitude, good work ethics, professional demeanor, and compassion.
- Must be able to work in an animal hospital setting such as an animal hospital, veterinary clinic, or kennel environment.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assisting the veterinarian by providing safe and proper restraint for examinations, injections, blood draws, radiographs, ultrasounds, catheter placement, and surgical prep.
- Assisting in cleaning up after surgery is completed.
- Assisting in preparing patients for post-operative care including discharging them from the animal hospital.
- Assisting in radiographs and blood draws.
- Being comfortable in going over the dispensed medications with owners
- Being familiar with diagnostic tests; the reason for them, the protocols for them and being able to communicate that with the other staff and clients.
- General cleanings such as sweeping, mopping, and laundry
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour
