Job Description

As a Part-Time Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in the well-being of our patients at both our hospital and boarding facility. Your responsibilities will include providing exceptional care through feeding, medicating, and cleaning, as well as ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all animals in our care. Key duties include:

Must have the ability to work these required hours:

T, R, F from 330p-630p

Cleaning and maintaining the facility

Laundering bedding and towels

Supporting post-operative care for patients

Helping veterinarians, technicians, and assistants with animal restraint and examinations

Additionally, you may receive training in cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments.

Qualifications

Familiarity with cleaning and disinfecting protocols

Understanding of proper animal restraint techniques

Skillful and efficient use of cleaning materials and equipment

Physical capability to perform moderately heavy labor (e.g., handling large dogs, bags of litter, pet food)

Compassionate and patient demeanor when caring for sick or frightened animals

Willingness to learn how to identify abnormal conditions

Ability to follow oral and written instructions effectively

Strong interpersonal skills to maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues

Additional Information

Working Hours:

part-time, no more than 15 hours per week
