As a Parks and Gardens Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing public
green spaces
, ensuring they are safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing.
Your role
will involve various landscaping duties, including trimming hedges, cutting grass, and general maintenance tasks. You will work as part of a team to uphold high standards of horticultural care and groundskeeping across multiple locations.
Responsibilities
* Carry out grass cutting, hedge trimming, and general landscaping duties.
* Maintain parks, gardens, and public spaces to a high standard.
* Operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as lawnmowers, strimmers, and hedge trimmers.
* Assist with planting, pruning, and general upkeep of
green spaces
.
* Ensure all areas are kept clean and free from litter and debris.
* Follow all health and safety procedures while operating machinery and carrying out duties.
* Perform minor repairs and maintenance of equipment as required.
* Work as part of a team to complete scheduled tasks efficiently.
* Assist in any additional duties required for the upkeep of outdoor spaces.
Skills & Requirements
* Full C1 + E driving license (required).
* Experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or horticulture is desirable.
* Ability to use and maintain landscaping equipment safely.
* Good
physical fitness
, as the role involves manual labour.
* Strong
attention to detail
and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to outdoor maintenance.
Job Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm (through Active Personnel Recruitment Ltd)
Pay: £12.14 per hour
