Park Interpreter -P11 Educational Programmer – Outdoor Center Jobs in Detroit, Michigan, USA at State of Michigan
Position: Park Interpreter 9-P11 – (Educational Programmer – Outdoor Adventure Center)
Responsible for the creation and implementation of programs, classes, and events for the guests of the Outdoor Adventure Center. Program delivery could be in person or virtual. Preparing leaders/teachers and groups for visitation (including orientation of visiting groups). Develops programs, classes, experiences, and themed special events consistent with the mission and vision of the DNR Parks and Recreation Division and Outdoor Adventure Center.
Contributes to overall operations including floor supervision and light cleaning when needed.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for and experience working with all ages in the area of outdoor recreation, such as hiking, kayaking, camping, etc.
Education
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in natural sciences, park management, natural resources communication or interpretation, parks and recreation, outdoor or environmental education, fisheries and wildlife or another natural resources related field, or an education degree with an emphasis in natural science.
Experience
Park Interpreter 9
No specific type or amount is required.
Park Interpreter 10
One year of professional experience providing interpretation services equivalent to a Park Interpreter 9.
Park Interpreter P11
Two years of professional experience providing interpretation services equivalent to a Park Interpreter, including one year equivalent to a Park Interpreter 10.
