Role Description The PARAVET is a full-time, on-site role based in Delhi, India, working closely with veterinarians and pet care teams to support daily clinical and wellness activities. Responsibilities include assisting with examinations and treatments, administering medications as directed, monitoring pets before and after procedures, and maintaining accurate medical and treatment records. The PARAVET helps educate pet parents about preventive care, nutrition, hygiene, and post-treatment instructions to ensure clear understanding and adherence. The role also involves managing basic diagnostic tests, maintaining cleanliness and safety in clinical and grooming areas, and coordinating with the pharmacy and retail staff to support integrated pet health services. This position requires compassionate, hands-on care for animals and professional communication with pet parents in a busy, customer-focused environment.
Qualifications
- Relevant veterinary technician or paravet training, certification, or diploma, with experience in small animal practice or pet clinic settings.
- Practical skills in assisting with examinations, administering medications, handling and restraining pets safely, and supporting minor procedures.
- Ability to conduct basic diagnostic support (e.g., sample collection, simple tests), maintain medical records, and follow clinical protocols accurately.
- Strong communication and customer service skills to explain treatment plans, preventive care, and home care instructions clearly to pet parents.
- Comfort working in a high-traffic retail and grooming environment, coordinating with veterinarians, groomers, and pharmacy staff.
- Demonstrated empathy for animals, patience with pet parents, and commitment to high standards of hygiene, safety, and animal welfare.
- Basic computer literacy for scheduling, record-keeping, and use of clinic management systems; knowledge of common pet products and nutrition is an advantage.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and peak periods, and proficiency in English and local languages for effective interaction with diverse customers.
