Role Description The Owner role at the WFF Youth Policy Board NENA Region is a full-time, on-site position based in Colombo. The Owner is responsible for overseeing strategic planning, governance, and operational coordination of the Youth Policy Board’s activities, ensuring alignment with the WFF Youth Initiative’s mission and regional agrifood priorities. Day-to-day tasks include guiding policy development processes, coordinating consultations and youth-led dialogues, supervising project implementation, and facilitating collaboration among board members, partners, and stakeholders. The role involves representing the Youth Policy Board in regional and global fora, managing resources and organizational processes, and monitoring progress on initiatives related to sustainable agrifood systems and youth empowerment. The Owner also supports capacity-building efforts for youth leaders, promotes inclusive participation, and ensures transparent communication across internal and external networks.
Qualifications
- Experience in policy development, advocacy, and governance within agrifood systems or related fields.
- Strong skills in strategic planning, project management, and stakeholder coordination.
- Proven ability to lead youth-focused initiatives and foster inclusive, participatory decision-making.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to represent the organization in regional and global platforms.
- Background in agriculture, environmental studies, public policy, international development, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated commitment to youth empowerment, sustainable development, and social inclusion.
- Experience working in or with the Near East and North Africa region is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field; equivalent experience in leadership and policy work may be
