Blue Pearl Pet Hospital is hiring an Overnight Veterinary Technician to work the overnight shift in our busy ICU department in Monterey, CA.
APCA – RVT Pay: $24.28 – $49.15 / hour
Schedule: Saturday – Wednesday – 4 ten-hour shifts
This pay band is a starting point and depends on experience and advancement through the Kahuna leveling system.
We offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends:
Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential
Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential
Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, your responsibilities include:
Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia, and using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
Triage of emergency cases, including vital sign assessment.
Performing digital radiography with proper technique.
Understanding normal vital sign ranges and interpreting blood pressure and other vital signs.
Identifying at-risk patients and initiating CPR.
Calculating medical math, administering medications, and performing phlebotomy and IV catheter placement.
Placing and maintaining feeding tubes and central line catheters.
Mentoring and training co-workers.
Addressing client concerns with patience and empathy.
