Position: Overnight Licensed Veterinary Technician – ER – Sign-on Bonus
Blue Pearl Pet Hospital in Midtown, NY, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic Overnight Emergency team. This role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art hospital alongside a talented and supportive team.
We’re offering up to a $20k sign-on bonus for this position!
Pay: $28.00 – $51.00 / hour + competitive shift differentials
This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.
We offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example:
Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = +$4.50/hr
Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = +$8.00/hr
Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = +$4.50/hr
As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will:
Assess and triage incoming patients to prioritize urgent care needs.
Recognize and respond to patients at risk of arrest with advanced CPR protocols.
Place IV catheters and advanced lines, including jugular and central lines.
Monitor and manage patients on mechanical ventilation.
Perform diagnostics and closely monitor critical patients for changes.
Administer and monitor anesthesia for emergency surgeries or procedures.
Provide advanced pain management, including CRIs and epidurals.
Collaborate with veterinarians and team members to deliver exceptional care.
Mentor and train co-workers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
Educate pet owners on post-emergency care and recovery plans.
Maintain a positive, professional attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Nurse critically ill patients back to health and reunite them with their families.

Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for CVTs and $750/year for VTS. The allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed full-time Paraprofessionals receive a $150 annual stipend. Full-time CVT and VTS associates also receive paid CE hours annually, with a rollover limit of 24 hours. Newly hired associates receive prorated benefits.
