LAASER is looking for ICU technicians whose responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:
Ability to perform advanced veterinary technician duties. Including but not limited to: venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluids and CRIs.
Provide nursing care to critically ill hospitalized patients in conjunction with specialty and emergency veterinarians
Ability to place nasogastric tube placement and provide maintenance
Ability to place central line and provide maintenance
Strong medical math skills. (Including being able to calculate fluid rate, common CRI’s and multimodal drug infusion.)
Utilize digital radiography machines to acquire images using proper technique and positioning.
Increase efficiency of the doctor staff by providing care and support to patients, clients, and hospital staff
Provide excellent medical support and compassionate care for patients and clients
Patient triage and discharge
Create and review estimates with clients for procedures
Obtain and run/process lab samples.
Understanding of isolation protocols
Monitoring critical anesthesia monitoring skills
Assisting veterinarians with exams, treatments and procedures.
Restraint of both dogs and cats
Comfortable with IV/IM/SQ injections
Physically able and willing to lift up to 40 lbs.
Stocking and cleaning
What We’re Looking For:
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred, or equivalent experience in emergency/critical care
Prior experience in an ICU or emergency setting strongly desired
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
Passion for high-quality patient care and teamwork
Must be available to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
